THE IMMIGRANT MIRROR
This art installation explores the determination of migrants to overcome obstacles. It seems as if their willpower and hope can make concrete walls open, but it's just an illusion. Yet, within this illusion, we discern a profound truth: hope, at times, takes on the guise of illusion, testing our resilience. The mirror reflects the hardships of migrants' difficult journeys, reminding us of our shared humanity. It underscores that any one of us could unexpectedly find ourselves in the shoes of a refugee. The suitcase, filled with concrete instead of personal belongings, symbolizes the inability to bring our homes with us when fleeing conflict. Instead, we carry our memories. In this installation, we are confronted with the fragility of our existence and the enduring strength of the human spirit.
